27/10/19 – The Hallamshire Trial – Results

Thank you to everybody for supporting Sheffield & Hallamshire MCC with the 2nd running of ‘The Hallamshire Trial’. The weather conditions on Friday and Saturday hampered us somewhat but fortunately the water level dropped so we could have a trial – a hard one at that! The consolation is that it was about as slippery as it gets so hopefully next year it will be a bit more favourable. Well done to everybody who persevered and finished the trial and well done to all class winners as there were some superb scores in the tough conditions. Many thanks to the land owners and observers as we would have no trial without them. Thanks to the signing on and results team, the course setting team and anybody else who helped in any way at all. See you all next year.

Rider Feedback:
We would love to hear your feedback on the trial and what you thought to the severity of the sections: https://forms.gle/piaoRJckDufzCMV29

Entries close on 21st October at midnight unless they are full before. Brough Rough ‘N 2019 – Results

Richard Timperley, Leigh Elliot, Mark Timperley and Jonny Carr laid out the course and did a great job of handling the new woodland sections. Thanks to all the S&H team for the job of setting up on the day and helping raise money along the way.

All the riding aside we managed to raise over £1100 between the chosen charity Bluebell Wood Hospice.

A massive thank you goes to the landowner for allowing the event to take place and to all the observers who braved the intense heat to support the event and make it as special as it always is. Thank you again to all who came and contributed without you it wouldn’t be possible.

Brough Rough’N Andy Atkinson Memorial Trial Sunday 25th August 2019

On Sunday 25th August, Sheffield & Hallamshire MCC will run our annual Brough Rough’N Andy Atkinson Memorial charity trial at the fantastic Elmore Hill Farm, Brough, Derbyshire.

The event first ran in 2013 and has continued to grow ever since as it is quite unique compared to most trials as everybody rides the same route. The sections vary in difficulty so there is something for everybody and the hardest sections are graded. This year is a slightly different format which is largely to try and get everybody finishing at a more similar time and shorten the day for the observers. There is 3 laps of 15 sections for everybody over a 6 mile moorland lap with sections varying from rocky streams to huge graded hills and maybe the odd bog thrown in for good measure. All proceeds are going to Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice as in previous years.
We have the usual charity raffle immediately after the event with some great prizes and there are some Michelin tyres to be won this year along with other great products from trials suppliers and local businesses.
Catering will be available at the start all day along with an ice cream van if the weather allows – fingers crossed.

The entry fee is £20.00 and observers are required who will be paid £20.00 and will receive a voucher for the catering van. Obviously the £20.00 can be donated to charity if they so wish.

The start will be signposted and can only be accessed via Duper Lane, Abney, Derbyshire, S32 1AH with entries closing at 10.30 ready for an 11.00am start.

If anybody can help observing or would like to donate anything to the raffle then please contact Richard Timperley on 07545 468341 or email: [email protected]

The Merle Morewood Peak Trial – Kia National Twinshock Trials Championship Round 4 – Results

Thanks very much to all the riders for supporting us with our first go at running a Kia Championship round, we hope you all enjoyed your day as much as we did putting it on for you. If you have a bold 5 on your score it is due to no score being recorded on the observers card. Many thanks to the results team of Mark & Carol Timperley and Chris Pearson. Thanks to all the observers for giving up their time so you can have a good day. Please remember to thank them as the trial doesn’t run without them. Thanks to Paula with the Chefswagon and Tim from Fredericks of Chesterfield for bringing the Ice Cream van. A big thanks to the section setting team – Richard Timperley and assistants Steve Bisby, Steve Ransom, Tim Heaton and all the rest of the team who helped out before and after the event. And finally a massive thanks to the landowners for letting us use these excellent pieces of land. Any queries with the results then please get in touch. Richard Timperley – Secretary & Clerk of the Course
