A big thank you to Corey, Mick, Joe & Richard for setting out and all the observers without whome there would be no trial.

Congratulations to Dan Thorpe, Katy Sunter and James Nicholls for winning their respective routes and all other class winners. A special mention to young Owen Bowers for having a go on a TY80, well done for finishing!!!

Our next trial will be on 2nd March 2014 at a venue to be decided (possibly Dudwood Farm)

Some top photos by Gary Mellor from the event are here, thanks Gary: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theimageworkshop/sets/72157639932330734

  1. Hi Glad you liked the photos.

I was at the trial as i have just bought a bike and i am interested in joining the club and giving it a go, once ive had some practice as im a total novice that is, can you give me joining details please.

    Cheers Gary.

    1. Glad to hear you are thinking of giving it a go, it is free to join Sheffield & Hallamshire, all you will need, to be able to do a competition is an ACU license, boots, helmet & a bike!

To get an ACU licence you will need a code from Sheffield & Hallamshire then you can register through the ACU website, it costs £10 for the year. We are holding a Novices & Beginners trial later this year that will be a lot easier than this last trial if you are interested.

      Cheers,
      Tim

      1. Thanks Tim, I had better get ready for june 8th then!

It sounds a simple process and not expensive either which is a bonus. Do i need to attend a club night to sign up? Is the club part of the Sheffield and Hallamshire car club?

        thanks Gary.

        1. Hi Gary,

It is part of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Car Club, but things are very much separate now. You can sign up at a trial, or come along to a club night meeting at the Rutland in Holmesfield. Keep a watch out on our Facebook page for news of when the next club night will be. Or if you want to get your ACU licence sorted sooner, send a message to our Facebook page, and Andy should be able to reply with an affiliation code you can use to get an licence.

          Cheers,
          Tim

          1. Hi Tim, i will probably try to catch you at the next trial then. Or at a club night, im not desperate for a License yet.

My lad has been using eadons on his MX bike (fee paid to grant) I was thinking of doing the same but was wondering if the club has access to any land for practice purposes?

            Thanks again gary.
