Brough Rough N’ Charity Trial 2016 – 4/9/16

The famous Brough Rough N’ is back again! This year it will be held on Sunday the 4th September. We have been given kind permission by the landowner to run the event again and he has even been kind enough to allow us to increase the number of riders allowed to enter this year!

Pre-entries information can be found below, and entries will also be taken on the day on a first-come-first-served basis. The trial starts at 11am, so make sure you arrive around 10am to get signed on in time and to buy raffle tickets, etc.

This years nominated charity is Bluebell Wood Children Hospice in Sheffield. We are attempting to raise £2000 so the hospice can buy an emergency ‘care at home’ bag, for the children who can’t leave their homes. If you would like to find out more, please visit their website: http://www.bluebellwood.org/

If you haven’t ridden the Brough Rough N’ before, it is a trial like no other! It is a big lap, all off road, 1 route trial. The sections range from very easy, to almost impossible, but nothing is dangerous! Sections close at 4pm and you choose the amount of laps you want to do.

Make sure you bring plenty of cash with you, as there will be a raffle and food and drinks for sale to raise as much money as possible for Bluebell Wood Hospice.

Directions to the Brough Rough N:

If using a SatNav, please use the postcode: S32 1AH to Abney.  Follow the arrows up Duper Lane, this is a very small road that is not suitable for anything larger than a big van.  Please do not try and get to the start from Brough using Brough Lane.

There will be direction signs from Hathersage, but if they are missing for any reason:
In Hathersage, take the road to the train station / Grindleford
Opposite the Plough Inn, take the right turn up to Abney.
At Abney, take the right turn on to Duper Lane.

S&H – East Midlands Oset Cup – Rd 4 Results

Another great turn out for the first ever Oset evening trial at Unthank Hall Farm! Special thanks to the land owner who was very kind to let us use this perfect bit of land. We had some great sections with varying difficulty and a lovely patch of mud at the bottom which went down well with all the kids…not so much the parents…! Not sure why…!

Special thanks also need to go to the riders and their families, for taking part and for their enthusiasm. It looked like everyone had a great time.

Well done to Thomas Wright riding the hard route – oozing confidence and wowing all the observers! Well done also to Tyler Atkinson for coming first on the medium route – so many cleans and only one 5 on Section 4! Lukas Butcher also deserves a big well done for coming first on the easy route. Fantastic work all of you!

Results can be downloaded here: 20-7-16 Unthank evening trial (PDF)

A massive thank you as always to the observers – Joe Spivey, Jess Bown, Jonny Carr, Laura Carr and Robin Charles. And special thanks to Jonny for setting up the sections.

We hope to see you all on the 10th September at Burrycliffe Quarry at 10:30am.
